Look closely at Seth Rogen's face in the poster below. Yes, he's on camera, but Rogen is barely acting.
Rogen plays support to a cancer-stricken friend in the upcoming dramedy, "50/50," the same role he played for the film's writer, Will Reiser, his real life friend who based the story on his own experience.
Playing the Reiser-based role is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and instead of aspiring Hollywood titans, the film has the pair as NPR segment producers and lifelong best friends who are rocked when Gordon-Levitt is diagnosed with cancer. Dealing with the upheavals that quake through the life of a young man suddenly facing mortality, Gordon-Levitt takes turns of anger, sadness, disbelief and defiance, bolstered (at times) by his neurotic mother (played by Anjelica Huston) and the goofball antics of his well-meaning friend.
The film co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Anna Kendrick, and with its September 30th release date, could be a surprise indie Oscar contender. Check out the poster, and below that, watch the trailer.
