The 'Jem And The Holograms' Trailer Is Here
|

Get ready for glitter and rock 'n' roll. The first official trailer for "Jem and the Holograms" has arrived.

Director Jon M. Chu's film version of the '80s animated TV show follows Aubrey Peeples' Jerrica Benton, aka Jem, a foster child at home and a pink-haired rocker on stage. When her sister Kimber (Stefanie Scott) uploads a video of Jem singing to YouTube, it instantly goes viral and Jem and her bandmates Aja (Hayley Kiyoko) and Shana (Aurora Perrineau) get offered a record deal. The trailer lacks the signature camp from the original show and instead focuses on Jem's coming-of-age story as she navigates fame in the social media age.

The official Twitter account for the movie also revealed the first poster on Tuesday.

"Jem and the Holograms" will also star Molly Ringwald as Aunt Bailey, Ryan Guzman as love interest Rio and Juliette Lewis will play record exec Erica Raymond. "Jem and the Holograms" opens Oct. 23.
