Kerry Washington Opens Up About Motherhood For The First Time

Somebody sound the alarm: Kerry Washington has made a comment about her personal life.

In an interview with The Los Angeles Times on June 10, the 37-year-old actress opened up about her feelings on motherhood for the first time since the birth of her daughter, Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha, last month.

"I feel really, really blessed," the "Scandal" star said. "I just feel really blessed that I'm kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life."

The actress, known for keeping extremely private about her offscreen life, married former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha on June 24, 2013, according to E! News. The marriage surprised fans, as the couple had been quietly dating in secret.

In October, Us broke the news that the pair was expecting their first child, and in May, they welcomed a baby girl.

In typical Washington form, the 37-year-old kept her silence about the birth while expressing gratitude for her fans' well wishes:

"Well...I still won't talk about my personal life on here," she tweeted in May. "But...I see your tweets. And I am filled with gratitude! XO #HappyMothersDay."
