TV Events We All Wish We Were Invited To

Wish We Were There: The Most Memorable Moments Of TV
|

Some of the best moments in life are the ones that happen with friends, and our favorite TV shows sure have given us a lot of events to ogle from afar. From sitcoms to reality TV, and from weddings to parties, our favorite characters have had some seriously good times.

And even though we know these events are scripted, sometimes we can't help feeling like our invite got lost in the mail. If only...

We wanted to take a look at some of these great TV moments, so we partnered with Olive Garden to present this list of some of the best TV events we wish we were invited to.

Top TV Moments
A Jesse And The Rippers Performance With The Beach Boys(01 of18)
Open Image Modal
Can you believe it's been 26 years since Full House first hit the air? The only thing that could be better than a musical reunion on late night TV, would be the chance to listen to The Beach Boys and Uncle Jesse's band jam together in person. (credit:Warner Bros. / Courtesy: Everett Collection)
Ross And Rachel's Wedding(02 of18)
Open Image Modal
2014 will mark 20 years since this iconic series first began to win us over. In its 10 year run, Friends taught us about friendship, life in New York, classic hair styles and, of course, love. While Ross and Rachels' relationship didn't take the natural course, their feelings for one another were obvious and we never stopped rooting for them. A Backyard Barbeque With The Sopranos(03 of18)

The abruptly ending final episode of this long-running series shocked us more than six years ago, but we'd still love a visit with this family. And it's a family affair in more ways than one when we're rubbing shoulders with extended family and "the" family (who, in casual conversation, are merely in the waste management business). If we're lucky, we may even catch Tony's beloved ducks taking a dip in the pool and, even rarer, a twinkle of joy in the big bad mob boss' eye. (credit:HBO / Courtesy Everett Collection)
"The Nightman Cometh" musical(04 of18)
Open Image Modal
This It's Always Sunny musical extravaganza, the last episode of season four, aired nearly 5 years ago. While the final product surely didn't fit Charlie's initial vision, we sort of think it's the creative differences that made this a show worth seeing.
Kelly Clarkson Winning American Idol(05 of18)
Open Image Modal
It's hard to believe this Fort Worth, TX singer became the Original American Idol 11 years ago. In the time since, she's managed to win more than 60 musical awards, including 13 Billboard Music Awards, 6 Teen Choice Awards and 3 Grammys. She's set to release her sixth album, Wrapped In Red, in October. (credit:Everett Collection)
Fonz Jumps The Shark(06 of18)
Open Image Modal
It's been 36 years since this Happy Days cool man opened the fifth season with this daring waterskiing stunt. While the trick was apparently written in to showcase Henry Winkler's real life water skiing skills, the term "jump the shark" came to signify a gimmick in TV lingo. Luckily, Winkler has a good sense of humor, and spoofed the stunt on an episode of Arrested Development. (credit:Everett Collection.)
That Epic 'Saved By The Bell' Hawaii Trip(07 of18)
Open Image Modal
We first met Zack Morris and the rest of the Saved By The Bell gang 25 years ago, but we still can't believe how much cooler they were in high school than we were. Exhibit A: Their summer vacation in Hawaii, immortalized in the 1992 made-for-TV-movie Saved By The Bell: Hawaiin Style, trumps any vacation we've ever had. (credit:Everett Collection)
When Davy Jones Performed At The School Dance(08 of18)

This iconic episode of The Brady Bunch, which aired more than 40 years ago, is one of the most remembered. Marcia, tasked with booking musical performance for the prom, brags that she can get the dreamy "Davyyy Jonessss"to appear, and then has to figure out how to deliver. When The Monkees star actually shows up, hearts melted. (credit:Everett Collection)
The Day School Turned Into A Murder Mystery With Jennifer Love Hewitt(09 of18)
Open Image Modal
We first fell in love with the goofy and lovable Boy Meets World gang 20 years ago, but this 1998 episode, "And Then There Was Shawn," sticks out in our memory. Not only does new girl "Jennifer Love Fefferman" temporarily join the group, but the horror movie plot emphasizes the best and worst of each of our favorite characters in a hilariously endearing way. Caleb/Cooper wedding(10 of18)

It may not have been the most eventful ceremony, but something fishy was going on with this union on The OC. It's been 10 years since season one, which wrapped up with this financially-beneficial union, aired, and five years since the final episode which, naturally, involved some more wedding drama. Any Meal At Monk's Cafe(11 of18)

To dine at this iconic Seinfeld joint would make a lifelong fan's dreams come true. Fun Fact: Tom's Restaurant, which was used for exterior shots of the fictional cafe, is located in New York City on Broadway and 112th. So scoot over, George. There's one more for coffee today. Every Friendship-Affirming Moment in the That 70s Show Basement(12 of18)
Open Image Modal
This gang worked their way into our hearts 15 years ago, and we watched, jealous, for years of all the fun times had in the basement. The guys tried desperately to understand the girls—usually to little effect—and the women shared their knowledge of boys with one another in an attempt to make sense of it all. From breakups to makeups and everything in between, that basement was the epicenter of this group. (credit:Everett Collection.)
The Birth of Lucy and Ricky's Baby(13 of18)
Open Image Modal
It's hard to believe that I Love Lucy has been off the air for more than 55 years, but when the couple welcomed a new member to their family, our hearts melted just a little. (credit:Everett Collection)
When Tyra Inspired Us With Her Tough Love(14 of18)
Open Image Modal
The America's Next Top Model host has been all about girls making their dreams come true for ten years now, and when Tiffany from season four lost faith in herself, Tyra took charge. "When my mother yells like this it's because she loves me. I was rooting for you! We were all rooting for you!" Who wouldn't want Tyra backing them up? (credit:The CW / Courtesy Everett Collection)
Niles and Daphne's Wedding(15 of18)
Open Image Modal
As one of the biggest will-they-or-won't-they TV romances of the '90s, the marriage of Frasier's Niles Crane and English housekeeper Daphne was a process literally a decade in the making, beginning with the shy character's secret crush in the first season culminating with season 10's inevitable shotgun wedding at a small ceremony in Reno. A fitting end to a franchise that technically started in a bar on Cheers. (credit:Paramount Television/courtesy Everett Collection)
The Crazy Party In Bushwick(16 of18)
Open Image Modal
Lena Dunham's HBO series, Girls , premiered just over a year a go, but it's already established itself as a highly relatable series among the twenty-somethings of the world. Perhaps the most enviable moment, though, was the time the ladies grouped up to head to "some party in Bushwick" that was far larger than they anticipated. We haven't been to any parties like this lately, but we just might like the opportunity. (credit:HBO / Courtesy: Everett Collection)
Survivor Fever Sweeps The Nation For The First Time(17 of18)
Open Image Modal
Richard Hatch won the first season of Survivor in 2000, triggering a national obsession with the reality show, currently in it's 27th season. After his big win, Hatch went on to compete (however briefly) in Survivor: All Star in 2004, and he also appeared on a season of The Apprentice. (credit:CBS)
Buffy's Graduation(18 of18)

I mean, graduating AND fighting a giant snake? Now THAT'S an event. And just in case you thought vampires were a new pop obsession, remember that Buffy The Vampire Slayer first hit our TV screens more than 15 years ago. (credit:20th Century Fox Film Corp/Everett Collection)
