A couple of weeks ago I did a vlog show where I responded to a twitter question asking: If I could have lunch with anyone, who would it be? My answer was Jane Fonda. I've always admired her and felt inspired by her fearless, independent nature and ability to always stay present and socially relevant. From her classic movies, to her work out revolution, to her political activism, she's always been at the forefront and never been afraid to speak her mind or try new things. After I mentioned her name, my fans went to Ms. Fonda's blog page and told the iconic actress to meet with me. While most people of her stature would ignore such an invitation, Fonda, with the encouragement of her social media advisor, James Andrews, decided to go ahead and do it. In the span of eight days, I went from casually answering a tweet to sitting down with the legendary actress to discuss issues ranging from female empowerment to classic Hollywood movies. The whole experience was incredible and one I'll never forget and I can't help but think it was sort of a defining moment for the inevitable merging of traditional and new media.
