In addition to a ceremonial "Glee" episode, the late singer Whitney Houston will be honored on the big screen, too.
Warner Bros. is re-releasing Houston's biggest on-screen hit, "The Bodyguard." The film, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary (on November 25), will screen for one day in 400 theaters country-wide on March 28. "The Bodyguard" 20th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray will be released one day prior to the screening.
In the 1992 hit, Houston starred as a superstar singer-actress and Kevin Costner played her tight-lipped bodyguard charged with protecting her from a crazed stalker. The romthrill, directed by Mick Jackson, held the second highest-grossing spot in 1992 (bested only by Disney's "Aladdin").
"The Bodyguard" hits similar notes to Houston's own life -- the film earned two Oscar nods and marked the pinnacle of her career. Houston passed away on February 11, 2012.
