Next time you're jonesing for the kind of emotional catharsis that only "The Notebook" can deliver, prepare to take your Kleenex to go.

Nicholas Sparks appeared on "The Early Show" and confirmed that his oh-my-god-so-sad movie is being turned into a Broadway musical.

The movie-turned-musical has been especially popular this year. Mike Myers is writing a groovy musical adaption of "Austin Powers" and there's a "Rocky: The Musical" in the works. Plus, "The Newsies" are sauntering down to Broadway, and not just to hawk papers.

As for "The Notebook," there is no set premiere date, nor casting possibilities. Sparks' criteria is pretty wide open, however: "Gosh, I don't know, someone who can sing!"

Do you hear that, Jessica Biel?

Take a look at other movies-turned-musicals headed to, or presently on, Broadway.
