Mimi Kennedy is stopping by NBC's upcoming comedy "Best Friends Forever" and she's bringing nothing but trouble. Kennedy will play mom to Joe (Luka Jones), Lennon's (Lennon Parham) boyfriend, sources confirmed to The Huffington Post. But it seems mom isn't Lennon's biggest fan. J.K. Simmons is circling the role of Kennedy's TV husband.

"Best Friends Forever" stars Parham and Jessica St. Clair as the title-boasting friends, who are reuniting. After a sudden divorce, Jessica moves back to Brooklyn to the apartment she and Lennon once shared, which Lennon now lives in with her boyfriend.

Kennedy (and hopefully Simmons as well) are set to appear in the third episode of the series, which is executive produced by St. Clair, Parham and "The Wonder Years" veteran and "Party Down" director Fred Savage.

Kennedy spent five years on "Dharma and Greg" and recently appeared in "Midnight in Paris," while Simmons had recent memorable TV turns on "Law & Order," "Party Down" and "The Closer."
