While the rest of the world felt "personally victimized" by Miley Cyrus' VMA performance, the one person we'd expect to be simply horrified is apparently used to this sort of thing.

Miley's father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is well aware that his daughter can't be tamed, and as such he tweeted a message of support for the 20-year-old singer after her raunchy performance that featured her grinding on Robin Thicke and simulating masturbation wasn't met with the kindest reactions:

It seems that dear old dad is still Miley's biggest supporter; meanwhile the rest of the world is just thinking:

UPDATE: Billy Ray Cyrus claims he wasn't referencing his daughter's VMAs performance, and if that's true, well, he really brings everything into perspective:

UPDATE 2: Billy Ray Cyrus spoke with "Entertainment Tonight" host Nancy O'Dell about Miley's VMAs performance, telling her:

“Of course I'll always be here for Miley. Can't wait [to] see her when she gets home. She's still my little girl and I'm still her dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out. I love her unconditionally and that will never change.”
