Unlikely 'Bachelorette' Fan Christian Slater Explains How He Got Into The Show

Celebs live vicariously through television too.

Actor Christian Slater may be portraying a gay pornographer in the crime drama “King Cobra,” but it’s safe to say his TV watching habits are decidedly more lighthearted.

During a conversation with HuffPost’s Lauren Moraski earlier this week, Slater confessed that Lifetime series “UnREAL,” a scripted series inspired by the drama of reality dating shows, piqued his interest in actual reality television. It then led to a love for the classic dating series “The Bachelorette.”

“[’Unreal’] led to ‘The Bachelorette’ and rooting for JoJo and who she would pick,” said Slater. “And then ― it’s really kind of incredible that I’m this knowledgeable about it all ― and then ‘Bachelor In Paradise.’ It really, it pulls you in, you know, and just when you think you’re out, they pull you back in.”

Upon Kelly’s recommendation, he then agreed to add “RuPaul’s Drag Race” to his list of must-watch reality TV shows.

He also nodded his head in agreement as Kelly gave kudos to “Stranger Things” and “Westworld,” so we suspect he may be watching those series too.
