Well, it's a fact: America loves Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
Early ratings for the 71st Golden Globes are in and NBC should be popping (more) champagne because Sunday's (Jan. 12) telecast was the most-watched in seven years.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the awards ceremony had "17 million viewers and a 5.4 rating among adults 18-49," up 8 percent from 2013, and 21 percent from two years ago.
With ratings up from last year, viewers must really enjoy Fey and Poehler, which is good news as NBC is set to welcome the pair back in 2015. A boon to NBC, the duo signed a two-year deal to host the awards ceremony. All hail Amy and Tina!
UPDATE: Deadline reports as of Monday (Jan. 13) at 1:25 p.m. EST that the ratings for Sunday night's Golden Globe telecast was actually 20.9 million viewers, a six percent jump from last year, making it the most-watched Golden Globes ceremony since 2004.
