New details are emerging in Joe Simpson DUI case. According to a source who tipped off TMZ, Jessica Simpson's father was arrested with a .12 blood alcohol level (BAC), well over the legal limit of .08.

Simpson was arrested August 4 in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley. TMZ reports that he was stopped at a sobriety checkpoint relatively near a bar his daughter is known to frequent.

Country singer Randy Travis also recently found himself on the wrong side of the legal drinking limit. He was arrested and charged with a DWI after being caught naked at the scene and allegedly threatening police.

It was Travis' second alcohol-related arrest of the year.

Twitter-happy Amanda Bynes was also arrested on suspicion of a DUI after she side-swiped a cop car in April. Maybe it's time Hollywood agents also started acting as designated drivers?
