Today in Arnold reboot rumors: "The Legend of Conan." As in Conan the Barbarian.

Deadline.com reports that Universal has purchased the action film and that Schwarzenegger is attached to star. The first film came out in 1982, and, as Deadline.com's Mike Fleming notes, it "launched Schwarzenegger's movie career."

Here's Arnold on the matter: "I always loved the Conan character and I’m honored to be asked to step into the role once again. I can’t wait to work with Universal and the great team of Fredrik Malmberg and Chris Morgan to develop the next step of this truly epic story."

Also truly epic? The number of vintage Arnold flicks that are supposedly hopping back to your local cineplex. There's "Triplets," the apocryphal follow-up to "Twins," the 1987 comedy which starred Danny DeVito as the governator's unlikely sibling. Eddie Murphy is supposed to be the third link in that chain.

Though Arnold described the sequel as "real entertainment," director Ivan Reitman had this to say about the project: "There's no writer, and there's no idea yet. I think that was more of a press release than anything else." Strike one.

Then there's "Terminator , , , , 5," which was first announced by Deadline.com back in April 2011. The only problem? There's no workable script. Strike two.

So there we have it. Batter up, Arnie!
