Sum 41 Singer Thanks Fans For Support After Leaving Hospital

Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley is recovering after years of "hard boozing" nearly killed him. The 34-year-old recently opened up about his battle with alcoholism and posted harrowing photos from a month-long hospitalization after his liver and kidneys "collapsed on [him]."

Now, the Canadian musician is thanking fans for their support. On May 24, Whibley posted an update on his condition on his website:

hey everyone, i just wanted to thank you all so much for sending gifts and all of the compassion and support you have shown me. it really means a lot to me in this time of recovery. i will be better soon and back out on stage before you know it.

The rocker also posted a current photo of himself along with the message of thanks.
