Lance Armstrong's 'The Armstrong Lie' Trailer Released

Why Lance Armstrong Was 'Certain He Would Never Be Caught'

Alex Gibney began working on his documentary about Lance Armstrong in 2009, back when Armstrong was a cancer survivor and a hero in the world of cycling. In the trailer for the documentary, "The Armstrong Lie," Gibney recalls how Armstrong lied to him about using steroids.

"He lied to me. Straight to my face. All throughout 2009," Gibney says. Armstrong agreed to set the record straight with Gibney, in what would turn in to the focal point of the new documentary.

"This is not a story about doping. It's a story about power," Gibney said. "And the story became hanging on to that power."

"The Armstrong Lie" is out in theaters soon. Watch the trailer above.
