Katy Perry Makes History With Fifth No. 1 'Teenage Dream' Single, Ties With Michael Jackson

Let's call 2011 the year that Katy Perry ruled the world. Not only does Katy currently star in "The Smurfs", which opened at No. 2 at the box office, she is also the only artist in history to be VMA-nominated for four separate videos in a single year.

But Katy Perry has officially made history after scoring her fifth No. 1 single off her platinum-selling "Teenage Dream" album, making her the only artist to do so since Michael Jackson released five No. 1 singles off his album "Bad".

"Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" recently climbed from No. 2 to No. 1 on the Pop Songs Billboard charts, following her other singles "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, "Teenage Dream", "Firework" and "E.T.," featuring Kanye West.

While "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" is the fifth Pop Songs No. 1 from "Teenage Dream," it's Perry's seventh chart-topper overall. She scored two No. 1s from her prior album, "One of the Boys": "Hot N Cold" and "Waking Up in Vegas". She currently ties Lady Gaga and P!nk for second-most No. 1s in the chart's archives, one away from Rihanna's record-breaking eight No. 1s.

Perry additionally ties Lady Gaga for most consecutive No. 1s for a lead artist in the Pop Songs chart's history. She also ties the legendary Michael Jackson for most No. 1s off a single album. Could Perry potentially break the record set by the King of Pop?
