When New York State passed marriage equality on June 24th, Neil Patrick Harris and longtime partner David Burtka tweeted their excitement, announcing that they'd be taking advantage of their new freedom to tie the knot. It was a buzzed about piece of news on a night of celebration -- though Harris tweeted the next day that they'd been engaged for five years -- and the wait to hear their wedding plans began.

Turns out that wait may be a while.

Appearing on "Watch What Happens Live" on Monday night, Harris quashed any notion that he and Burtka, fathers of twins, would be getting married, saying "we have no plans to," and that the pair had planned on getting hitched in California until Proposition 8 took hold.

Still, he was very excited and supportive of those who did get married in a crush of first day nuptials in New York.

"We're certainly not planning a wedding," he said. "But we think it's amazing that eight hundred and some odd people got married yesterday."
