The hills of NBC are alive with "The Sound Of Music." The network has released the first trailer for their upcoming live version of "The Sound of Music" starring Carrie Underwood.
NBC's adaptation of the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein show will be performed live on December 5 and stars Underwood as Maria and Stephen Moyer ("True Blood") as Captain Von Trapp.
The three-hour NBC version will be based on the 1959 stage version, and not the film that starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.
Check out the video above to see Underwood tackling some Broadway hits like "My Favorite Things," and the cast, including "Smash" star Christian Borle, rehearsing for their big night.
"The Sound of Music" will air live on NBC Thursday Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. EST.
