Eric Church Pays Touching Tribute To David Bowie, Scott Weiland And More At ACMs

The country crooner remembered late greats at the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards.

Eric Church turned his Academy of Country Music Awards performance into quite the fitting tribute to late musical greats on Sunday night in Las Vegas.

While performing his single "Record Year," the 38-year-old singer paused in the middle of the song for a mini-tribute to stars from the music world we recently lost: Stone Temple Pilots' singer Scott Weiland, David Bowie, Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister and Glenn Frey of The Eagles.  

A DJ onstage played portions of Bowie's "Changes" and "Fame," along with Motorhead's "Ace Of Spades" and The Eagles' "Already Gone" during the performance. For the tribute, photos of the musicians surfaced behind Church and his band, reminding all of us of the musical talent we lost way too soon. 

Keith Urban, for one, enjoyed the moment: 

"Record Year" appears on Church's 2015 album, "Mr. Misunderstood."
