"This is the end," Adele sings at the beginning of "Skyfall," the Oscar-nominated title track from the film of the same name.
Maybe she was right.
"Skyfall," the 23rd entry in the James Bond franchise, was arguably the best 007 film ever: It won critical acclaim ("Skyfall" has a 92 percent Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was actually in the Oscar conversation for Best Picture), populist approval ("Skyfall" has earned over $1 billion worldwide) and employed the biggest recording star of the moment to sing its theme song.
About that: If you're James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, where do you go after Adele, who is poised to win an Oscar for Best Original Song -- a first for a Bond theme -- at the Academy Awards on Feb. 24? Has the 24-year-old chanteuse ruined Bond themes for everyone else?
Probably not? To help in the process, HuffPost Entertainment has compiled a list of 19 artists who could conceivably sing the next Bond theme, without significantly embarrassing themselves when compared to Adele.
