is a fourth of July institution. Here is a video of a man competing against a bear at hot dog eating. This video is patriotic because it involves many things Americans hold dear, like competition, overeating and vapid television programming. The video is also metaphorically patriotic, as it features a man competing with a bear (the bear being a symbol of the USSR, once America's greatest enemy).
